Cibola Citizen: Roberta Jaramillo

A weekly feature about our neighbors

A positive change

Roberta Jaramillo is a new addition to Cibola County, and already she has gone to work to better our community. Jaramillo is a member of the Milan Police Department. She recently moved to Cibola County to help fight crime, and with crime down in the Village of Milan it is safe to say she is doing her job.

Jaramillo said she started working in the village in April of 2017, and that she came over to work with Chief of Police Pat Salazar. Jaramillo said that she is originally from McKinley County, and “the call volume (here) is down a lot, I came from Gallup Police Department, so we have non-stop calls 24 hours a day so, I think the people are really different.” Jaramillo said, “nothing against the people of McKinley, but the people here in Cibola County are a lot nicer. Even our bad guys, they’re not as – I don’t know if there is a difference between the drugs or alcohol that makes them crazy, I don’t know what it is – they’re not as crazy, the people are a lot nicer, all the way around.”
