Carole Jolene (Ellis) Piedmonte
Carole Jolene (Ellis) Piedmonte, 79, of Grants, New Mexico, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 after a long battle with emphysema.
Born May 13, 1940 in Soda Springs, Idaho, Carole lived in several places during her life, including Swan Valley, Idaho, Butte, Montana, Cokeville, Wyoming, and Concord, California. She was baptized a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints at the age of eight.
The last several years, she was dedicated to attending the weekly Devotional with her neighbors and read the scriptures daily. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts, if you were given a set of snowmen or Mr. and Mrs. Claus, you know just how crafty she was! She liked an occasional trip to the casino, traveling, and exploring the New Mexico landscape in her younger years. Carole was a friendly and generous neighbor that always made time for her friends and family. She took pleasure in decorating for every holiday and keeping her hummingbird feeders full for all to enjoy. She was optimistic and strong, even on her sickest days. Her greatest joy was being a mother. Carole will be missed dearly.
She was predeceased by her parents: Ray and Elva Ellis; and her son: Kenny Jay Pugmire.
Carole is survived by her two brothers: Larry Ellis, Albuquerque, N.M., and Thomas (Lorraine) Ellis, Grants, N.M.; one sister: Patti (Scotty) Bell, Dolores, Colorado.; three daughters, Jolene Alvarado, Grants, N.M., Christine Copel, Kingman, Arizona, and Rae McAneney, Concord, California.; one son: Preston Pugmire, Grants, N.M.; ten grandchildren: Ricky, Amber, Vince, Joey, Jacie, Brianda, Kaila, Zack, Kevin, Zoe; and fifteen great-grandchildren: William, Jayden, Conner, Vinnie, Carter, Kennedy, Jackson, Leighton, Baylee, Peyton, Quinn, Maverick, Hunter, Lacey, and Trystin.
