Carroll Frank L. Shutiva "Pa,”

Carroll Frank L. Shutiva "Pa,” 93, was born January 19, 1927 in Richmond, California and journeyed back home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank was a Pueblo of Acoma Tribal member and a 1946 Richmond Union High School graduate. Frank, being drafted twice, proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He also proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was honorably discharged in 1954.

After serving, Frank became employed as a painter for the Santa Fe Railroad (AT&SF) in Richmond, California before eventually returning to the Pueblo of Acoma reservation and residing in Shutivaville, New Mexico. He then became employed with the Public Health Service installing water lines throughout the sur rounding reservations. Frank was also employed with the Grants Municipal Schools as a Maintenance Technician before retiring. Frank enjoyed the outdoors, working around the family home, gardening, hauling wood, was a dedicated San Francisco 49er loyalist since 1946, and enjoyed time with his loving family.

Frank was preceded in death by his father and mother: Lorenzo and Marie Shutiva; wife: Mary Shutiva; son: Terrance Shutiva; daughter: Mary-Ellen Shutiva; brother: Ernest Shutiva Sr.; and sisters: Juanita Pasquale, and Ruth Geter.

Frank is survived by his brother: James "Jimmy" Shutiva; sister-in-law: Jean Campos-Berry; son: David (wife Sylvia) Shutiva; son: Mark (wife Marie) Lewis; grandchildren: Chad Matthew Shutiva, Jessica Carroll Shutiva, Erin and Erik Lewis, Elizabeth (husband Frank) Willis, Elaine (husband Clint) Baker, Andrew (wife Rachel) Gunn; great-grandchildren: Kamryn "Kamy Kakes" Shutiva, Keyshawn "Shawn John Square Pants" Shutiva, and many additional loving nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.

Due to the current social distancing/stay-at-home requirements, the Shutiva family is thankful for the numerous love, encouragement, support and prayers during this time and will hold a special memorial gathering at a later date.
