Claudio Edmundo Blea
A rosary for Claudio Edmundo Blea will be held Sept. 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.
Claudio Edmundo Blea was born in Cerro, New Mexico to Amada and Gaspar Blea on Nov. 28, 1935.
He made his journey home to Heaven on Sept. 19, 2019 in his home with his youngest daughter at his side. He was 83 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Amada and Gaspar Blea; his wife: Rebecca Blea; his son: Michael Blea; his son-in-law: Melvin Marquez; his brothers: Emilo Blea, Solomon Blea, Armando Blea, Honorio Blea; and his sisters: Teofila, Lucille and Elsie.
He is survived by his son: Claudio Blea Jr.; daughters: Annette Blea, Roberta Marquez, Alice Garcia; his sister; Francis Duran of Greely, Colorado; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Claudio moved his family from Colorado in 1960 during the mining industry boom. He worked as an underground miner for 25 years with Kerr McGee. Claudio joined the U.S. Army when he was 17 years old and served for three years. He was sent to Korea, when the war ended then was transferred to Japan. He was a Private First Class, light weapons infantryman. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
He was a loving dad, grandpa and husband. He will be greatly missed.
