Sam F. Anderson
Our beloved Sam F. Anderson, age 84 was born on September 8, 1935 and went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2020.
Sam was a dedicated member of the Laguna-Acoma Baptist Church all his life and served as a Deacon. He graduated from Gallup High School and attended Haskell Nations University and earned a degree in the Safety Environmental Program. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, he was a Security Guard Officer for the Laguna-Acoma High School, was a Safety Officer for the Anaconda Mines, worked for the State of New Mexico as a Safety Specialist; and worked as an Environmental Technician for the Pueblo of Laguna. He retired in 2005.
He was a Pillar in the community, respected, outgoing, and a lovely man. He loved and served the Lord with all his heart. He was the rock of his family and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Velma Anderson of 63 years; children: Wendy (Cecil) Brown, Loretta Anderson, Richard (Jeanette) Anderson, Adele (Fred) Scott, Beverly (Mark) Hampton: sister, Beatrice Collins, 14 grandchildren, 55 greatgrandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam F. Anderson Sr., mother, Edna E. Anderson, sisters, Rosalie Perkins, Genevieve Spencer, Levine Tenorio, Lucille Valdez, granddaughter, Tenisha Katheryn Anderson, and his loving auntie Ruth Concho.
