Sophie Christine Herrera
A viewing will be held on September 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Vivian's church in Milan, New Mexico. The rosary will be recited at 11 am and a mass at 11:30 a.m.
Sophie Christine Herrera, 65, was born on Feb. 11, 1954 to Alfonso and Dulcinia Tafoya in Llano, New Mexico. She passed away on Aug. 29, 2019 in Milan, N.M.
She was united in marriage on Oct. 14, 1972 to William H. Herrera. She worked many years at the Grants Head Start. She enjoyed cooking and sewing but also working on her yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Herrera, mother Dulcinia Tafoya, her mother-in-law Maria Herrera, her father-in-law Gilbert Herrera Sr., and her father Alfonso Tafoya.
She is survived by her sons: Matthew (Virginia) Herrera of Milan, N.M., Tim (Alicia) Herrera of Grants, N.M. and Adrian (Monique) Rodriguez of Grants, N.M.; sisters: Pauline (Fred) Rodriguez of Alcalde, N.M., Isabell Rodriguez of Ojito, N.M., Sandra Gonzales of Penasco, N.M. and Lori (Tito) Arguello of Taos, N.M.; brothers: Alfonso Tafoya Jr., of Llano, N.M., Paul Tafoya of Llano, N.M. and Wilfred Tafoya of Ojito, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
