Five Christian sect members bond out

Four members of the Aggressive Christian Mission Training Corps who failed to register the births of their children were released after two months, each on a $500 bond. The mother of a boy whose son died at the compound, prompting an investigation into the sect was also released, on a $2,000 secured bond.

Amos, Ruth, Timothy, and Victoria River were taken into custody days after a raid of the religious sect’s compound in Fence Lake by the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 20. Stacey Miller, 47, was arrested the day of the raid in Truth or Consequences. The couples were arrested on Aug. 23, after they were pulled over by deputies after preventing investigators from interviewing 11 children living at the compound. At the time, they had several days’ worth of clothes, $1,000 in cash, and several maps, according to Sheriff Tony Mace.
