The vagaries of fashion seldom stand the test of time. Capriciousness can often raise the amusement factor of daily living. Witness, if you will, such styles as car fins, beehive hairdos and platform shoes. There were the once-popular hula-hoops and the polyester leisure suit.
But style never goes out of style. Back in the 1970s a group of men decided to replicate the discovery of the New World by Irish monks.
