Your Voice Matters: Three branches
The United States government is very elusive to most Americans, as only 1 in 4 (26 percent) of Americans can name all three branches of the government, according to a poll from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public Policy Center.
The United States, and each of the states in it, operate with a three-branch system: The executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. Each one has so called “checks” on each other, so none of them get too powerful.
