March 25 Free Movie – “The Quiet Man”

Your pot-of-gold could be found at the Double Six Art Gallery this Saturday, March 25 as movie fans will watch “The Quiet Man”. The director, John Ford, and most of the actors/ actresses are Irish. Showtime is 2 p.m.; location is Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Avenue. Blarney is welcome!

Sound the Alarm

On March 25, 2023, firefighters and Red Cross will be going house to house in the Village of Milan to survey your current smoke alarm situation and install free smoke alarm(s) in your home with your permission if needed. In efforts to save lives in case of a fire in your home, firefighters and Red Cross will also be required to provide you with fire safety tips and go over escape plans/routes to help you and your family stay safe and stay alive in the event of a fire in your home. This event will take place in the east end of Milan from Archer Street to Airport Road.

April Free Movies

Actress Anne Baxter is April’s featured movie performer at the Double Six Art Gallery, on Route 66. First up – “All about Eve” on April 8. Next, “I confess” on April 22. Films begin at 2 p.m. No admission fees. See you at the movies!

April 1 Village of Milan Easter Festival

The Village of Milan is hosting their annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday April 1st, 2023. Kearns Park 1500 Stanley Road. Prize Games, Food Trucks, Free Games. “All About Eve” features Anne Baxter as a young actress who’ll do almost anything to become a STAR. Bette Davis portrays an aging STAR. April 15 Prevent Child Abuse

Child abusers can kill! Don’t let them! Get help! Save a life! Express your opinion through art and take part in the art-walk April 15. It begins and ends at the Grants Public Library. Action begins at 10 p.m.

Free Youth Activity – Yoyo Making Yo-yos can be fun; yo-yos can be frustrating. Join young artists at the Double Six Art Gallery, Saturday, April 15, as they make and try to master these toys. Location is Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Avenue; time is 2 p.m.

April 22 Free Movie – “I Confess” Memorable director Alfred Hitchcock was a master of movie melodrama. He attended a Catholic College, intending to be an electrical engineer. Thankfully, that didn’t work out. Join moviegoers Saturday, April 22 for “I Confess”. Venue is the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Avenue. Movie begins at 2 p.m.

April 29 Free Youth Activity – Mobile Making American sculptors; Alexander Calder’s name is synonymous with which moveable art form? In fact, one of his large, colorful, moving objects hangs in the US National Gallery. That’s right! It’s a mobile. Young artists will make some, Saturday, April 29 at the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Avenue. At 2 p.m., the fun begins.
