La Ventana Natural Arch Experience the beauty of the night sky with us as we explore constellations and other celestial wonders. We'll also have our new Dobsonian telescope available for even better views of the stars and night sky.
If cloudy skies prevent stargazing, the program will become Creatures of the Night, where we'll discover the fascinating wildlife that comes alive after dark.
No registration is required—just bring your curiosity!
September 26 What? Freedom 250 National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event When? Saturday, September 26, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where? Please meet at the El Malpais Ranger Station upon arrival. After check-in, volunteer groups will travel together to their project sites. Celebrate America's 250th anniversary and National Public Lands Day by giving back to your public lands! Join the Bureau of Land Management for a rewarding day of volunteer service at the El Malpais National Conservation Area.
Volunteers can choose one of two projects:
• Repairing fences at Cebolla Canyon
• Assisting with trail maintenance on the Narrows Rim Trail No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help!
