November 4 Free Movie – “The Agony and the Ecstasy” Artist Michelangelo sculpted. The luminescent “Pieta” when he was 21. By age 29, he had completed the colossal “David”, a naked, boyish, athletic hero. “The Agony and the Ecstasy” focuses on the 30 years he painted the celling of the Sistine Chapel. November 12 El Morro Area Arts Council Present NM Humanities Council Chautauqua Program on Miguel Trujillo MIGUEL TRUJILLO, NEW MEXICO'S UNKNOWN CIVIL RIGHTS HERO, Presented by Gordon Bronitsky. When New Mexico became a state in 1912, its constitution denied Indians the right to vote. In 1948, Miguel Trujillo, a WWII Marine veteran from Laguna, sued New Mexico and obtained the right to vote for Indians of the state.
