You know “The Arts are for Everyone!” This November, the two gallery movies are “The Monuments Men”, and “The Agony and the Ecstasy”. Venue is the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave. Time is 11 a.m. Watch for dates and background information.

November 1 Blood Donation Drive at GHS The Grants High School Anchors Club Fall Blood Drive will be November 1 in the New Gym, 500 Mountain Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

November 2 El Morro Area Arts Council Presents: Laura Gilpin, Photographer Meet Miss Laura Gilpin as portrayed by Deborah Blanche, New Mexico actor and storyteller, in the onewoman show: Laura Gilpin, Photographer, on Sunday, November 5th at 2:30 at the Old School Gallery, 4009 Ice Caves Road, Ramah, NM. November 4 Free Movie – “The Agony and the Ecstasy” Artist Michelangelo sculpted. The luminescent “Pieta” when he was 21. By age 29, he had completed the colossal “David”, a naked, boyish, athletic hero. “The Agony and the Ecstasy” focuses on the 30 years he painted the celling of the Sistine Chapel. Movie time is 11 a.m., Saturday, November 4 in the Double Six Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave.

November 5 Free Pet Vaccinations

RezDawg Rescue is hosting free pet vaccination from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kearns Field, 1500 Stanley Road in Milan, New Mexico. There will be a line of cars, keep your pet leashed until it is there turn. Check Page A2 for more information.

November 9 Arts Council Board Meeting The Cibola Arts Council Board meets Thursday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Double Six Art Gallery. November 12 El Morro Area Arts Council Present NM Humanities Council Chautauqua Program on Miguel Trujillo MIGUEL TRUJILLO, NEW MEXICO'S UNKNOWN CIVIL RIGHTS HERO, Presented by Gordon Bronitsky. When New Mexico became a state in 1912, its constitution denied Indians the right to vote. In 1948, Miguel Trujillo, a WWII Marine veteran from Laguna, sued New Mexico and obtained the right to vote for Indians of the state. The public is invited to attend this Chautauqua Program on Miguel Trujillo on Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 at the Old School Gallery, 4009 Ice Caves Road, Ramah, NM. December 9 Free Movie – ‘Babette’s Feast” Isak Dinesen was a wellknown Danish writer. If you saw the Streep-Redford film “Out of Africa”, you experienced her story-telling talent. In honor of the December holiday, the Double Six Art Gallery will show “Babette’s Feast” based on a Dinsen story. Date is Saturday, December 9 in the Double Six Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W.
