Dio De Los Muertos

November 3 Free Music Lesson
“Jazz in the Concert Hall” has Leonard Bernstein discussing the blending of jazz and symphonic music. Featured composers are Schuller, Copland, and Austin. The DVD will be shown this Friday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. in the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave. Music is the universal language!
November 4 Free Movie – “The Agony and the Ecstasy” This Saturday, November 4, the Double Six Gallery will show the film “The Agony and the Ecstasy” about the 30+ years artist Michelangelo spent working on painting the ceiling of Romer’s Sistine Chapel. Charlton Houston and Rex Harrison star. Venue location is Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave. and move time is 11 a.m.
November 5 Free Pet Vaccinations
RezDawg Rescue is hosting free pet vaccination from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kearns Field, 1500 Stanley Road in Milan, New Mexico. There will be a line of cars, keep your pet leashed until it is there turn. Check Page A2 for more information.
November 7 Election Day
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Call Cibola County Clerk’s Office to find you nearest polling location at 505-285-2554.
• Village of Milan will be electing two of their trustee positions. The village is an atlarge election, they will be electing two positions, there are two candidates running: Rosanne Lopez (incumbent), and Monica Sandoval.
• Village of Milan will be electing a Municipal Court Judge. There is one candidate for this office: Willie A. Jaramillo (incumbent)
• Grants-Cibola County School Board will be electing three positions. District 2 candidates: Robert Hays (appointed incumbent, running to secure the seat), and T. Walter Jaramillo.
• Grants-Cibola County School Board will be electing three positions. District 4 candidates: Frances Anne Lee, and Tony Martin Boyd.
• Grants Cibola County School Board will be electing three positions. District 5 only has one candidate, incumbent Guy Archambeau.

GCCS Board Meeting
The Grants Cibola County School Board will hold an inperson school board meeting on Tuesday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m.at the GCCS Central Office Boardroom, 413 Roosevelt.

November 12 El Morro Area Arts Council Present NM Humanities Council Chautauqua Program on Miguel Trujillo MIGUEL TRUJILLO, NEW MEXICO'S UNKNOWN CIVIL RIGHTS HERO, Presented by Gordon Bronitsky. When New Mexico became a state in 1912, its constitution denied Indians the right to vote. In 1948, Miguel Trujillo, a WWII Marine veteran from Laguna, sued New Mexico and obtained the right to vote for Indians of the state. The public is invited to attend this Chautauqua Program on Miguel Trujillo on Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 at the Old School Gallery, 4009 Ice Caves Road, Ramah, NM. November 14 NMSU First Generation Celebration Hello Aggies! Are you a First-Gen student? A First-Generation Student (First Gen) is a student who comes from a family that has neither parents nor guardians that have a Bachelor's degree or higher. This means that the student is the first in their family or a part of the first generation in their family to attend college and pursue a Bachelor's degree. December 9 Free Movie – ‘Babette’s Feast” Isak Dinesen was a well-known Danish writer. If you saw the Streep-Redford film “Out of Africa”, you experienced her story-telling talent. In honor of the December holiday, the Double Six Art Gallery will show “Babette’s Feast” based on a Dinsen story. Date is Saturday, December 9 in the Double Six Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W.
