Along with the Grants Police Department, the Grants Fire Department and many friends and family, the Grants Pirates Baseball Team was escorted through and out of town on their way to represent our community in the quarter finals of the 4A New Mexico Activities Association State Baseball Tournament last week.
The students at Mesa View Elementary and several other schools celebrated by wearing Pirate colors and making signs to show support for the Pirate team as the bus cruised by the schools. A lot of yelling and dancing was done by these little ones to show their excitement and support of their High School Heroes. It was a tough loss for the Pirates, but it was amazing to see how the community rallied around them to show their support and wish them well!
