GRANTS, N.M. - On December eighth at NMSU, a recognition ceremony was held for students Dayna Fank, Sherrie Howeya, Irina Joe, and Kaylynn Mirabal for earning their Bachelors of Science in Nursing. They were honored in the ceremony by Dr. Teresa Leon, Dr. Marlene Chavez-Toivanen, and Tom Whelan. The chosen BSN class of 2022 student speaker was Sherrie Howeya. Howeya spoke of the trials and support that it took for her and the others to make it as far as they did and thanked everyone for the love and support they had given during their trials. After this, Kaylynn Mirabal was called forward to be granted the Clinical Excellence Award. Afterwards, all of the students were pinned by loved ones, given their plaques, and sent off with applause by all present as the ceremony came to a close.
