GRANTS, N.M. — The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce kicked off its first ribbon cutting of 2026 on Saturday, January 10 with the grand opening of 1912 Market, a revived Route 66 storefront now operating at 705 W. Santa Fe Ave. in Grants.

In a social media announcement, the Chamber said it was “thrilled to welcome them back” and described the updated business as a mix of “oldschool charm, great coffee, and a local farmers market vibe,” encouraging residents to stop in, meet the new owners, and support the reopening of a longtime local space.

Chamber President Melinda Salazar marked the event as a community milestone, according to information shared with the Citizen.

Community response on social media was immediate, with residents offering congratulations and sharing early impressions of the shop’s offerings. Several comments highlighted baked goods and desserts, including cheesecake, and one commenter said they had purchased local honey. Another resident wrote that Grants needs “a bakery… not just donuts,” calling the opening “great news.”

The opening adds another small-business activity point along the Route 66 corridor as local organizations continue efforts to promote entrepreneurship and reinvestment in Grants’ commercial areas.
