GRANTS, N.M. – In the early hours of June 2, a red truck crashed into a power pole off of Lobo Canyon in Grants, New Mexico. The accident disrupted power for several hours and left the power transformers suspended in the air, held up only by power cables.
The Cibola Citizen was unable to gather more details about this accident by press time but will follow up. Crews from Continental Divide Electric Cooperative arrived quickly and worked tirelessly through the day to restore power to the communities which were affected by this accident.
Hours after this accident, another similar accident occurred which temporarily knocked out power to many of the same locations affected by this first accident.
