Drama Department Face Painting

GRANTS, N.M.- The Grants High School Drama Department, taught by Anissa Shaver, was invited to volunteer their time at the Double Six Art Gallery on October 29 to show their developing skills with makeup and face painting for anyone who wanted to be a part of it. In acting, appearance is just as important as the performance itself when it comes to believing the portrayal of a character. The students who were able to show worked diligently taking turns doing their makeup for each other while others were gathered around to watch. Shaver said that the students had a small amount of practice in the classroom with it so far and was happy the students could have the opportunity to do more. Shaver enjoys teaching her students and hopes to continually draw attention to drama class as an option for younger students choosing electives in high school. She also said that they have performances planned for every quarter of the school year. Anyone who is interested in seeing the hard work that Grants High School’s Drama classes are putting into their shows are invited to attend.
