GRANTS, N.M. –
The Grants Police Department has charged Ryan Sardo with aggravated battery, disorderly conduct, assault with intent to commit a violent felony. The charges come after Sardo allegedly fired a 12-gauge shotgun shell at an unnamed minor. According to Grants Police Department, no one was hurt in this shooting.
The case remains under investigation. According to GPD Police Chief Jeff Marez, the firearm used in this alleged incident was a homemade device. Unlike so-called “ghost guns” that are usually constructed from a 3D printer, this device was homemade and law enforcement are still looking into the construction of the device. The weapon in question could allegedly fire a 12-gauge shotgun shell.
According to Chief Marez, Sardo allegedly fired the weapon at a minor, “he missed – thank God,” the chief said. This case is under investigation.
