The Grants Community Pantry recently welcomed large donations from Homestake Mining Company, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, and the Grants High School Service- Learning Class. Tri-State provided items for the Pantry’s homeless program; Homestake provided 44 holiday boxes with all the fixings for veterans and large families; and the GHS Class provided used clothes and canned goods for the Emergency Box Program.
“We are grateful for all donations, large and small,” said Alice Perez, executive director of The Community Pantry located in Grants and Gallup. “We couldn’t do what we do without community support,” she added.
The Pantry relies on donations and volunteers to operate efficiently.
They provide meals to approximately 40,000 families annually.
“We’re committed to serving those who need us most,” Perez said, “whether through food boxes, partnering with ranchers, or our fresh produce program, we continue to combat hunger in our communities.”
