    Around 40 peaceful demonstrators braved bitter wind, near freezing temperatures and snow to gather in El Morro, NM to take part in the nationwide Hands-Off protest demonstration on Saturday April 5. The group, escorted by the sheriff’s department, carried protest signs as they walked 1.1 miles along route 53 from the Old School Gallery to the El Morro National Monument sign and back. The demonstration attracted hundreds of thousands around the country to protest the Trump Administration’s cuts to federal programs including Healthcare, Social Security and Medicare.

    “The activists have a long list of concerns and are insistent that Donald Trump and his nonelected billionaire cronies are dismantling and destroying the American democracy and the economy,” they said in a statement.
