Editor’s Note: This story had a late breaking development just before press deadline. LaTasha Kee was found injured and was taken to a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Please see the end of this story for details.
LaTasha Emily Kee, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and resident of Grants, New Mexico, has gone missing. Kee goes by the nickname “Tasha” and has not been seen since July 21, she was last seen south of Grants on Highway 117.
Kee is a 35-year-old indigenous woman with brown eyes and brown hair, approximately 200 pounds, she stands at five feet and four inches tall. She goes by “Tasha” with friends and has a “3” tattoo on the right side of her neck and an unfinished flower tattoo on her left arm with the initials “JB” partially covered by the flower.
Kee is possibly travelling to Sanders, Arizona, but was last seen off Highway 117 in Cibola County. The last time Kee was seen, she was wearing black pants, a black shirt, no jacket and she had no bag.
Kee’s family reached out to the Cibola Citizen directly in a plea for help, saying that they would like her returned home.
The day Kee left Grants, her mother received a worrying phone call and asked for Kee to join her in Grants. According to the family, Kee was allegedly abused by her husband that morning she went missing.

Late Breaking Developments
Minutes before press deadline, Kee’s family related via email that she was found and is injured.
Kee is currently at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., where she was found after trying to escape her alleged abuser. The family is seeking assistance in finding justice for Kee, who suffered the alleged abuse in Grants, N.M.
