ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New information is coming to light about the Lannon murders of Grants, New Mexico in court documents. Sean Lannon, 47, of New Jersey, is accused of committing three murders in Grants, N.M., one murder in Albuquerque, N.M., and another murder in New Jersey. Lannon allegedly informed the Albuquerque Police Department of 11 other murders he committed in the Grants-Cibola area; those have not been confirmed.

In the morning of March 5, APD was called to a bad smelling car located in the parking garage at Albuquerque’s Sunport. The smell was noticed by Sunport security who were doing routine checks of the garage, inside police found the bodies of four people: His ex-wife, Jennifer Lannon, her boyfriend Jesten Mata, a friend of Mata, Matthew Miller, all from Grants, N.M., and his final New Mexican victim, Randal Apostalon of Albuquerque, N.M.

According to court documents, Lannon murdered his victims over the course of a week in mid-January. On February 24, Lannon was put in touch with and met Apostalon, according to the documents, the two were meeting to discuss storing “totes” in Apostalon’s storage unit. APD says the “totes” carried the bodies of Lannon’s Grants victims. The two visited the storage unit, but it didn’t have enough space to store the totes, as they began driving to find a new storage location, Apostalon allegedly demanded $300 and hinted that he knew what was in the totes.

In the court documents, Lannon details his anger with Apostalon for trying to “extort him.” At this point grabbed a hammer from the truck and bludgeoned Apostalon, killing him.

Lannon covered the new body with a tarp and left his other three victims, which had at this point been dismembered, in the truck. Afterwards he went to take a shower, washing for around five minutes before APD officers knocked on his door for a welfare check ordered by the Children’s Youth and Families Department. Officers quickly learned that Lannon had an extraditable warrant out of Cibola County and arrested him. He was taken to the Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, N.M., and was released on March 2. After being released from jail, Lannon took the truck with his victims to the fourth floor of the Sunport parking struycture in Albuquerque, N.M., where he would abandon them.

On March 5 APD would begin investigating the four murders, but Lannon was in New Jersey. On March 8 Lannon broke into the home of Michael Dabkowski and beat him to death with a hammer in East Greenwich, New Jersey. Dabkowski’s body was discovered by officers performing a welfare check. In court documents, Lannon alleges Dabkowski sexually assaulted him as a child.

Lannon was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri on March 10, he was found driving the car belonging to Dabkowski.

Lannon’s allegations of 11 other murders in Cibola County have not been confirmed.
