The State of New Mexico has release the list of the most popular baby names this year, with Noah and Camila claiming the top spots for boys and girls, respectively.
The provisional list, released by the Department of Health's Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, show us the names that captured the hearts of parents across the state, which hasn’t changed all too much since last year.
For girls, Camila leads the way, followed by Mia, Emma, Sophia, and Isabella rounding out the top five. Names like Aurora and Emily also made it into the top 10, reflecting a preference for timeless and elegant choices.
On the boys' side, Noah continues to hold strong at number one, followed by Liam, Ezekiel, Mateo, and Elijah. Notably, Ezra and Sebastian secured spots in the top 10, the two newcomers on the list, while being olderstyle names.
• Eight out of the top ten names for both boys and girls have remained consistent in recent years.
• Liam and Olivia have held their spots in the top rankings for nearly a decade.
• Ezra made a notable rise for boys, while Aurora gained traction for girls.
• Names with Biblical origins, like Noah, Ezekiel, and Elijah, remain highly favored.
These names not only reflect cultural and familial ties but also an intentional and thoughtful love for the parent’s child.
