Petition to recall mayor fails

The petition to recall Grants Mayor, Martin “Modey” Hicks fails after the Cibola County Clerk verfiied the petition and determind the petition would not move forward due to not enough signatures to continue with the recall process. The petition was spearheaded by Grants resident Beverly Michael. Calls and emails to Michael were not repsonded to for comment.

Hicks said in a brief comment, “I was not worried about this recall petition. What got me was the city manager (Laura Jaramillo) lying on the stand at the hearing.”
