The stage was set and coffee and donuts were a plenty as we started our sixth annual Vintage Ford Bronco Round-up, as we partnered with Corley Ford this past Oct, 7. After a great welcome from Ford staff and Mary Ann Armijo from Champion Ford in Gallup, we reminisced with old friends as well as making new friends with newer Broncos.

My wife Evelyn then passed out game score cards and foam dice to participants. For the poker run one card would be drawn at each of the five stops during our cruise to form a high and winning hand. Winner would receive a gift sponsored by Tom’s Off Road Parts in Medford, Oregon. The dice toss consisted of foam rubber dice with one letter on each side B..R..O..N..C..O and the first person to have all the letters would be awarded a gift sponsored by Champion Ford.

An added game was to unscramble the letters “NCIWH TASET MAFR” sponsored by Chris Winch State Farm Insurance in Grants.

The cruise to the La Mosca summit adjacent to the Mt. Taylor peak was spectacular to say the least. The aspen trees were in full fall color change and the beautiful reds, yellows and bright greens were accented by the beautiful bright blue sky. The view from the summit was awesome and we hoped to see the hot air balloons east of us near the Sandia Mountains, but that area was hazy.

We returned to the Corley Ford dealership a little after 1 pm and finished the games and have the sales-person’s Bronco choices and then draw the raffle ticket for the “Baby Bucky Bronco”, a children’s rocking horse that my granddaughters and I hand crafted for a raffle fund for Good Sam Nursing home. The raffle started a couple weeks ago and netting $425.00. Corley Ford manager Stacey Corley rounded it up to $500.00. Thanks to all sponsors and those who participated, a great time was had by all.

YEEE-HAA. GIDDY –UP, GIDDY UP… SEE YA NEXT YEAR PARDNER!
