GRANTS, N.M. — Shoppers at the August 9 Grants Farmers Market were greeted with something they’ve been waiting for all season: fresh produce!
With the summer growing season finally in full swing, tables were stocked with local fruits and vegetables alongside the usual handmade crafts, baked goods, and farm-fresh eggs.
The market also continues to proudly accept SNAP/EBT cards, giving families the opportunity to purchase healthy food from local farmers. Shoppers can stop by the Farmers Market table to exchange SNAP funds for market tokens — and thanks to the Double Up Food Bucks program, every dollar spent on eligible food is matched, doubling the amount customers can spend on produce.
As always, the market runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at City Hall Park, with live music, yard games, and new vendors arriving weekly. Come hungry, shop local, and take advantage of the freshest food in Cibola County.
