Why are we eight pages?

Body

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – You may notice that this week’s paper is a little light, its only 8 pages this week. We apologize that it isn’t thicker, and due to this we unfortunately had to leave out several stories we had planned to run this week.

Deadline days are always a massive crunch for the Cibola Citizen Staff and while it may not occur often, disasters are prone to happen and this week we suffered a great disaster. Our cloud system failed and massively delayed the production of this newspaper, leading to severe delays and accessibility issues.

We apologize for this inconvenience and will be back at full force come the Jan. 5, 2022 edition of the paper. Despite the massive disaster which struck us on our deadline day, we persevered. The only way to have this paper completed in time for printing was to reduce our size to eight pages. This is not a forever change.

We hope you can understand our issues, we will be back to full force next week. Thank you for your consistent readership, 2021 was a tough year for everyone and ending it on this note is the cherry on top of a tough year. We are looking forward to 2022, our hopes are high for the future, and now that we’ve gone through these issues, we know how to be prepared and stop these issues from happening in the future.

We’ll see you in the new year, stay safe and have a very Happy New Year!
