GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants Public Library added another hands-on learning opportunity for local children on August 25 when Wildflower Circle visited the library for a STEM-focused activity day.

Older children worked on building grabbers, then tested how well their designs worked and made adjustments to improve them. The activity gave participants a chance to practice basic engineering skills by building, testing and redesigning their creations.

Younger children took part in a separate art activity, making colorful butterflies from coffee filters.

The program offered children of different ages a chance to learn through both experimentation and creativity, continuing the library’s focus on familyfriendly educational activities that go beyond traditional reading programs.
