Chavez-Franco Corrine
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Corrine Chavez- Franco, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who left us on July 24, 2025.
Born in Grants, New Mexico, Corrine devoted her life to education, becoming a compassionate and dedicated educator. She received her master’s degree in counseling and spent many years teaching at the local community college and serving as a high school guidance counselor. Her passion for guiding and supporting others was evident in everything she did and carried this commitment to the Clark County School District upon moving to Las Vegas.
In retirement, Corrine embraced a variety of hobbies, including bowling, playing golf, and participating in the Women’s Club and Lions Club. A lover of travel, she explored the world, making lasting friendships wherever she went. Above all, Corrine’s heart belonged to her family and her faith. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Neumann Roman Catholic Church, where she found strength and purpose throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Pantaleon and Merenciana Blea Chavez; brothers: Eddie, Arnold, Benny and David Chavez; sisters: Lou McBride, Chona Mirabal, Ralfalita Chavez, Bonnie Trujillo, Tillie Padilla and Helen Dayan.
Corrine is survived by her loving husband: Art Franco; her sister: Delene Baca; her cherished daughters: Yvonne Padilla (Francis), Jeannie Narum (Jay), Sherri Aragon (Tom); her grandchildren: Tanya Munson (Matt), Tricia Beauregard (John), Adrian Padilla (Elmira), Matt Narum (Anna), Kyle Narum (Ellyn), Amanda Aragon, Alyssa Aragon; great-grandchildren: Devin, Alexia, Emma and Keira Munson, Aiden Beauregard, Emerson and Waylon Narum, Memphis Narum (deceased).
She will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A funeral mass be held at St. Teresa of Avila, September 12, 2025. Rosary prayer will be at 9:30 am, and the funeral mass will commence at 10 am. A reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus in Grants. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Theresa of Avila church.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a guiding light to so many and her kindness, wisdom, and warmth will never be forgotten.
