Student Missing from GHS Found Safe

GRANTS, N.M.On August 26th, a 14-year-old girl was reported missing from Grants High School. According to the Grants Police Department incident report, the juveniles mother explained that she had not arrived home after school and expressed concern that she may have been in trouble. Additionally, the mother of the missing juvenile mentioned having ongoing issues with her at home and that the Children Youth, and Families (CYFD) was involved in another case related to them. It was unknown who she was with or where she was. The student was entered into the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person/runaway.

The next day, a male wanted to meet with the officers to clear his daughter as a missing person. An officer was informed and met with the previously missing girl and the student’s parents.

Ultimately the missing juvenile was found unharmed and “in good spirits.”
