    This week's Athletes of the Week is : Laila Martinez, a senior on the Grants High School Pirate Cross Country team; and Cardenio Chavez, a wide receiver with the GHS Pirate Football team. Laila took first place in the at the Presteguis Rio Rancho Jamboree with a time of 21:13.0. The GHS girls’ cross-country team went on to take the overall first place in the Jamboree as well. Cardenio Chavez, 2, had three touchdowns against Kirtland Central this past Friday in the 66-14 win over the Broncos.
