In Cibola County, we know the challenges of recovery are real. Distance to treatment, transportation, stigma, and limited local treatment options too often leave people without support when they need it most. But now, thanks to opioid settlement funds reinvested in our community, help is available right at our fingertips.
Two free apps — Connections and Companion — are now available to anyone in Cibola County.
● Connections offers 24/7 peer support, daily check-ins, coping tools, and milestone tracking for those in recovery ● Companionisdesigned for families and caregivers, providing resources, discussion forums, and a supportive community
Recovery doesn’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule. For someone struggling at midnight or a parent looking for answers on a Sunday afternoon, these apps provide an immediate lifeline. They are free, confidential, and available in both English and Spanish.
I encourage every resident to share this information. If you or someone you love is in recovery, download the apps. If you’re a neighbor, teacher, pastor, or friend, spread the word. Every download could mean one more person feeling less alone in their recovery journey.
Opioid Settlement dollars gave us these tools. Now it’s up to us to use them — and to remind our community that recovery is possible, support is available, and no one has to walk this path alone.
