GRANTS, N.M. - We also kick off the Centennial Themed Treasure with a $500 cash award, celebrating Route 66 history and adding even more excitement to the weekend’s opening night festivities.

The celebration continues in Downtown Grants, where the Spokes on 66 Car Show takes over the streets with energy and excitement. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, visitors can explore an impressive display of classic cars, hot rods, custom builds, and vintage vehicles from across the region and beyond. Each vehicle tells a story, showcasing craftsmanship, history, and passion across generations.
Special guest Steve Darnell from Vegas Rat Rods and Welder Up will appear beginning at 10:00 AM with his iconic Peterbilt, “El Diablo,” and the legendary Haunted Ride. Fans will have the opportunity to meet him, take photos, and get autographs during this exciting appearance.
Throughout the day, enjoy FREE live music from Dylan Vargas and the Black Belt Band, along with a diverse mix of genres including Spanish music, country favorites, classic rock, and timeless oldies. The music fills Downtown Grants, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere where visitors can relax, dance, and enjoy the celebration.
Bring your lawn chairs, gather with friends and family, and enjoy a full day of entertainment in the heart of the community. With classic cars lining the streets, vendors, and food trucks offering a wide variety of delicious eats, refreshing drinks, and unique local goods, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Saturday also features a Rockabilly Pageant showcasing vintage-inspired fashion and style. Participants will celebrate the bold spirit of the rockabilly era with retro outfits, personality, and flair in a fun, family-friendly competition.
Families will love the Touch-a-Truck experience, where kids and adults can explore service vehicles, emergency trucks, and heavy equipment up close. It’s a hands-on interactive activity designed to spark curiosity and fun.
The FREE Kids Zone will also be open all day, featuring bounce houses and many more free activities for children. It provides a safe and exciting space for kids to play and enjoy the event.
