GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants Recreation Department is preparing to get back on the diamond as the upcoming youth baseball and softball season approaches.
According to the department, staff will begin contacting coaches next week and working to schedule the player draft for the season. The department also said it expects to receive an update on the fencing and lighting project taking place at Wells Park.
The project is expected to be an important part of preparing local fields for play and improving conditions for athletes, coaches and families who use the park during the season.
“Thank you for your patience, we are excited to get back on the diamond,” the department said in its update.
More information on schedules, teams and field updates is expected as the season gets closer.
