Baseball Coach and Players Shine

    GRANTS, N.M. Though the Grants High School baseball season ended with a quick one and done at the 4A state tournament the team and head coach received several district accolades in district 5-4A.

    Mike Furbee, the GHS head baseball coach was named District Coach of the Year. Senior Estevan Barela was named District Player of the Year and Evan Taylor was named District Pitcher of the Year. Zeth Villasana, Joziah Ortega, Daniel Garcia, Dereck Rhoades and Barela were named 1st team All District. Evan Taylor and Colin Lundstrom were named 2nd team All District.

    Bryan Antonio and Nathan Nieto were named Honorable Mention All District.

    Aaden Jiron and Miguel Montoya were named District All Academic.
