Missing and Endangered Grants Boy Located

GRANTS, N.M. – In the early morning of March 28, Paul Samuel Martinez, a juvenile from Grants, New Mexico, was reported missing by the New Mexico State Police. He was located almost 11 hours after by NMSP was released, according to a press release, he was found safe.

In a preliminary report released by NMSP, Martinez was on a scheduled visit with his mother Linda Sherrie Haney of Portales, N.M. Haney does not have custodial rights. Martinez was not returned to his father, who does have custodial rights, after the scheduled visit. According to preliminary reports, Martinez was located in Clovis, N.M. after his phone pinged twice in the western part of Texas.

The initial missing and endangered notice came from the New Mexico State Police around 12:30 a.m. Monday morning, NMSP alerted that the boy was discovered safe around 11 a.m.

No information has been released by NMSP about Martinez’ mother, Haney. As of press time, this investigation was ongoing and only limited details were available to the press.
