Quartz Hill Fire on Zuni Mountains

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. - A fire in the Zuni Mountains on Quartz Hill started around 2:45 a.m. May 9. Fire suppression teams are in the area intent on completely suppressing and putting out the fire. As of 9:20 a.m. on May 9, the fire is zero percent contained and is eight acres in size.

As of 8:15 p.m. on May 9, the fire was 75 percent contained.
