COVID-19 continues its slow grind through Cibola County, and the rest of the world. In Cibola, 200 residents have now died from COVID-19.
8,130 positive tests have been recorded in Cibola since the beginning of the pandemic in early March 2020. This is not the total number of positive COVID-19 tests in the county, since the rise of home tests, COVID-19 data from the state has been skewed and is inaccurate due to the state’s inability to read tests that aren’t registered with the department.
As of July 25, there were nearly 500 known active cases of COVID-19 in Cibola. The US Centers for Disease Control say that Cibola is a county of significantly high COVID transmission and the best ways to avoid catching the illness are social distancing and wearing a mask when around others.
