Pirates take a loss against Huskies, 35-7

Body

The Grants High School Pirate Football Team had their dreams of giving the Hope Huskies a loss on the road last Friday as they hosted their second game of the season – the Huskies had other intentions as they left the Port of the Pirates with a 35-7 win. The Pirate defense was capable of holding the Huskies to six points in the first two quarters, however, the offense was unable to remove the goose egg on the scoreboard before the half. In the third quarter, the Huskies added another touchdown while the Pirate offense found Manuel Gonzales for a run that was over 50-yards for a Pirate touchdown. The Pirates wiped the goose egg off. The Huskies came back in the fourth quarter adding 16 additional points for the final score of 35-7. The Pirates go down to 1-4 and will face off with Kirtland Central (12) this Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Port of the Pirates.
