Ernest H. Macias was born in Grants NM on January 19, 1946. Ernest’s parents were Benjamin and Ester Macias both from Grants NM. Ernest passed peacefully on November 1, 2022 entering Heavens Gates.
Ernest was employed by City of Grants and OMI for 46 plus years and enjoyed helping everyone. Ernest also served with Grants Fire and Rescue for over 25 years and was a Worthy Sir Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
Ernest was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His presence here will be missed greatly but will always have a special place in our hearts. Ernest always had a smile and enjoyed joking, conversations, contributor to local casinos and many evening with steaks and spirits.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Macias, four children, Dorothy Koster, Bobby Macias and wife Jacqueline, Doreen Macias, and Ernestine Macias, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and sister, Josie Macias Blea.
Ernest was preceded in death by parents Benjamin and Ester Macias, brothers Ray and Eloy Macias, sisters Carmen Lopez, Mary Quintana, and Marylou Macias Friends are welcome to attend the rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 400 E. High Street, Grants, N.M. Celebration of Life will follow at the Knights of Columbus, 1601 Roosevelt Ave, Grants.
