MILAN, NM – On May 15, 2023 the Village of Milan hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the upgrades of the soccer complex. The upgrades consist of a new concession stand, restrooms, and storage area which have been added to the existing soccer field this year. State Representatives Lee Alcon, Harry Garcia, and Patricia Lundstrom, who acquired funding for the complex, were present for the ribbon cutting. The master of ceremonies for this event was Village of Milan Mayor Felix Gonzales. The Trustees from the Village of Milan provided free water and State Representative Lee Alcon provided free hot dogs, chips, and sodas for the event. Several teams played soccer games during the event, and all were offered free hot dogs, chips, and drinks. The Village is upgrading the parking area and constructing direct access to the parking area directly off Highway 66. This is expected to be completed sometime during the first part of June.
