On May 24, in the afternoon hours, Cibola County Sheriff’s Office and Ramah-Navajo police were dispatched to the Candy Kitchen area in reference to a missing elderly woman.
Upon arrival of both agencies and after a search of her property, the elderly woman was located and found deceased. After investigation, it was determined to be a homicide. the elderly woman was identified as Jesse Grey, 74 years of age. Next of kin has been notified and the case is active and under investigation.
The Cibola County Sheriff’s Office is following several leads and wants the public to know that we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the community.
