Letters to the Editor . . .

Body

Dear Editor, This is the second time I have been in Grants and have had the pleasure of reading an excellent editorial from Diego Lopez. Mr. Lopez's words regarding the House's Inaction and how it weakens U.S. global leadership were cogent and timely. It is a credit to your publication to have someone who follows both domestic and international policy carefully and summarizes the critical issues of our day so clearly.

Sincerely, Candace Head-Dylla Parker Colorado

Will be Missed

Dear Editor We would like to express our condolences to the Milan Family and to all the friends of Hortensia Milan who in her name have generously donated to our For The Animals fund. This fund covers medical care for shelter animals, other than spay and neuter costs.

Mrs. Milan was a very caring pet owner who loved her “gatos”. She was delighted that Doc Merayo is fluent in Spanish and so was at ease to communicate with him. She will be missed!

Thank you! Airport Animal Clinic

 Supporting Non-Profits

Dear Editor During and following the 2022 New Mexican fires at Calf Canyon, Hermits, and Cooks Peak, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) responded to our needs. They supported the residents and responders at 20 of their NM pop-up kitchens with over 59,000 meals served.

Last week WCK held a fund raiser to support their efforts in Ukraine where they have dished up over 250,000,000 meals since the invasion. You could support WCK by eating at a restaurant that had signed up to support them. Unfortunately, no New Mexico restaurants were on the list.

I would encourage and support NM restaurants that sign up to support future WCK fund raising opportunities. They helped us, we need to help them. If you would like to donate on your own, please consider going to #chefsforukraine or WCK.org.

Yeah I know, we got an important election coming up and everybody and their brother, and sister, has their hands out. But this organization actually does something to help.
