Dolly Mae Jaramillo

Body

Dolly was born in Pitcher Oklahoma in May 19, 1940. She came to Grants New Mexico during the Mining boom with her family. Grants became her home when she met and married Max Jaramillo Jr. of Cubero New Mexico and started a family.

Dolly was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, sister, and daughter.

She became ill when she was 56. She was diagnosed with an auto immune disease that took her eyesight by the time she was 60. She fought every challenge that this disease presented yet it left her in the dark for 24 years. She always longed to be able to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always wanting to know how big they were and who they looked like.

We find comfort knowing she and Dad are watching over us as we continue life in body and they enjoy life in spirit with our savior Jesus Christ, no longer suffering and enjoying the true meaning of coming home.

She gave in to her fight and she passed on July 5, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was survived by her daughters: Kim Jaramillo and Fiancé Mike Gonzales and Brenda Curtright and husband Steve Curtright; brothers: Robert Whitney and Russell Whitney; grandchildren: Kristen Lucero, Justin Lucero, Caitlin Martinez, Brandon Molina, Cody Curtright and Casey Marquez; great-grandchildren: Sammy Curtright, Isabel Curtright, Melanie Lucero, Alessandra Molina, Aniykah Martinez, Liam Marquez, and Kaleb Marquez.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Max Jaramillo Jr.; stepfather: George Whitney; mother: Nellie Whitney; father: Claude Downs; brother: Sonny Downs; sister: Barbara Curtis; and brother: Mike Whitney.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in Gillham, Arkansas, this Fall where her remains will be placed with her mother, Nellie Whitney.
