'The ladies played well and together, and the communication was the best so far this year,' said GHS head coach Jesse Gamboa 'It was a much needed win.'
Scoring for the Lady Pirates were Miranda Maestas, a junior, Madisyn Chavez, a freshman, Shiann Medina, a senior and Anyssia Perez a junior.
Pirate Boys
The GHS boys’ soccer team lost a close one to Bloomfield High School by a score of 4-1 last week at home. Bloomfield outscored the Pirates 3-2 in the first period and each team scored one goal apiece in the second period. 'We did the little things, and I liked the intensity the brought---we do have mistaken that young teams have coming out,' said GHS boys soccer coach John Malcolm.
Malcom has praise for his assistant who coached the game as he was unable to make the game. Scoring for the Pirates were senior Fabian Pena, Ernesto Fernandez a fellow senior and 8th grader Roberto Arredondo.
