Dwayne “Buster” Richard Wilcox

Buster was from Milan, New Mexico, but built his home in Belen New Mexico. He passed away on September 10, 2024.

Buster possessed an infectious personality, and never met a stranger. Buster always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. He had a love for his family that had no bounds. He had a great passion for roping and strived to put on great roping’s where everyone could enjoy themselves.

He found his true love Shawna, three years ago, and they were married just one month after they started dating. Buster had two daughters Tristin and Ashlynn Wilcox and stepson Matthew Montano. He supported and pushed his children to do great things. Buster created and carried a legacy that most can only dream of.

A legacy of love, caring, passion and honesty. He will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten. Buster is preceded in death by his grandparents: Gordon and Harriet Wilcox, Bill and Edith Walker; and his uncle Claude Wilcox.

He is survived by his wife: Shawna Wilcox; daughters: Tristin and Ashlynn Wilcox; stepson: Matthew; parents: Susie and Jerry Wilcox; Brother: Randall; sister: Amanda (Joseph) Savedra; numerous nieces and nephews, and aunt and uncles; and his grandpa: Dwayne Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday the 19th of October at 11 am at the Grants Cow Palace and burial to follow at the Wilcox cemetery in El Morro.
