Born to a loving family, Karen was a dedicated sister to Fred Hinton and Vicki Johnson, who now mourn her loss but cherish the memories they shared. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Christian Cothran, Nathan Cothran, Jesse Cothran, and Jacob Hinton, each of whom she loved unconditionally and supported throughout their lives. Her children were her pride and joy, and she took great care in guiding them, instilling in them the values of hard work, kindness, and resilience.
Karen was a loving grandmother. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, making every moment special with her gentle heart and caring nature. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed, whether it was through her thoughtful advice, a comforting hug, or her infectious laugh. Her family will remember her as a nurturing and dedicated figure who gave them love beyond measure.
In her professional life, Karen was a valued employee of the Grants Police Department, where she worked as the secretary for the chief of police. She was known for her professionalism, strong work ethic, and her friendly and welcoming demeanor. She built strong bonds with those around her, becoming not only a coworker but a trusted friend.
Outside of her work and family life, Karen was a passionate and skilled quilter. Her quilts were works of art, each piece telling a story and carrying her love for the craft. She was deeply involved in the Mt. Taylor Guild, where she found a community of like-minded individuals who shared her passion and talent for quilting.
