Lou Antone JR.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lou Antone Jr, 55, of Milan, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully on the evening of November 2, 2024, in Albuquerque NM.
Lou was born May 8, 1969, in Crownpoint, New Mexico into the Water Edge clan, and born for The Ute clan.
Lou spent his formative years at Crownpoint. Lou was tremendously well loved by his family and friends. He was known for his various arts & crafts, from birdhouses to his leatherworks to his interesting metallurgy creations. He enjoyed watching Let’s Make A Deal, Price Is Right, WWE RAW, Smackdown and the Dallas Cowboys games. Lou worked for Cutler Repaving for many years and was known as the “hopper-man”.
Lou is survived by his wife, Rachelle Chicag, father, Lou Antone Sr (wife Janice Antone), of Borrego Pass NM, daughter Tamaris House (husband Truman House) of Prewitt NM, brother Mike Lee (wife Carletta Lee) of Shiprock NM, brother McLane Antone (wife Sherry), brothers Lathan Antone and Kyle Antone of Borrego Pass NM and sister Cheryl Antone of Borrego Pass NM. 3 grandchildren, 13 nieces and 9 nephews.
Lou was preceded by his mother Lorraine Chavez Martin, maternal grandparents Alfred and Ena B. Chavez, paternal grandparents Jake and Helen Antone, brother Cordell Antone, sisters Michelle Martin and Tamberlyn Martin.
Services for Lou Antone Jr will be held on November 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Crosslands Bible Church in Thoreau NM. Pastor Bob Hughbanks will be officiating. Fellowship will be held following at the Crosslands Bible Church. The burial will be at The Thoreau Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Mike Lee, McLane Antone, Lathan Antone, Erik Loera, Bruce Bennett, and Fernandez Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Lou Antone Sr, Truman House and Hazen T. House May Lou’s spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be embraced by his love and Lou Jr will be forever loved and missed.
Mt Taylor Mortuary in Grants NM will oversee the arrangements and be accepting donations on Mr. Lou Antone Jr’s behalf. Our deepest appreciation and a big Thank you to all who knew him, loved and supported him.
