The Grants High School Band and Choir are working hard to prepare for the annual Veterans Day Concert. This year the concert will be on Monday, November 11th at 7 pm at the Grants High School Auditorium. Admission will be free and everyone is welcome.
The Mt. Taylor Quilt Guild will be joining the Band and Choir to honor several of our local veterans with handmade quilts.
The Band and Choir will be presenting special pieces of music that honor the history of our country and tell the stories of our Armed Forces. The choir will sing a special arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The Band will perform The Light Eternal by James Swearingen.
The Light Eternal recounts the World War II story of the S.S. Dorchester and is based on the well-known hymn God of Our Fathers. The Jazz Band will also contribute with the Count Basie classic- Jumpin' at the Woodside.
These selections along with other patriotic favorites will help us celebrate the Veterans of Cibola County.
